Preparing for University

As an independent tutorial college, our aim is to provide an effective transition from School to University. We do this through our popular one year Pre-University Foundation programmes in a wide range of subjects from Architecture through to Business, Economics, Engineering, Law and  Pharmacy programmes.

Alternatively you can study A-Level programmes in a wide range of subjects from 18 month to two year programmes. These are ideally suited for students who wish to study medicine or are aspiring to enrol at the elite universities of Cambridge, Oxford, London School of Economics, Imperial College or Warwick University.

The college also provides English language tuition leading to an IELTS examination.

GCSE programmes are available for those students who have not studied under the UK curriculum or equivalent in their own countries.

Accommodation

At Cambridge Seminars we recognise that good accommodation is an essential element in a successful academic programme.

We like to ensure that all our students have their own rooms with appropriate facilities and storage space. We help students locate accommodation within walking distance of the College and we are not far from the historic Cambridge city centre and Grafton shopping centre.

Host Family Accommodation

While many students will prefer to find their own accommodation, we have well-established links with good local host families who provide term time accommodation on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis.

Some families look after just one or two students while others are happy to provide accommodation for several students. Each student has their own individual room with study facilities.

Host family accommodation is particularly suitable for students who appreciate a family atmosphere.

Entry Requirements

For our academic programmes, we require a minimum of 5.0 in IELTS or a grade C and above at GCSE English.

We also provide IELTS tuition as part of our University Foundation programme to ensure acceptance at university.

For Intensive English a minimum of 4.5 in IELTS is required.

We are housed in a two storey victorian building that consists of teaching rooms, science laboratory, a computer suite and students common room.
